The law in Jersey that relates directly to pay is contained within the Employment Law 2003.

Many employers and employees already contact JACS in regard to queries about pay issues and, in addition to the legal requirements, JACS advises on good practice. In line with the requirements of legislation and in the interests of good practice, employers should develop payment systems and processes to ensure fairness in the workplace. Information is intended to help in the introduction of good practice and, where appropriate, refers to existing legislation.

Reference to the UK is made in the information given, on occasions, simply to explain how various issues are dealt with elsewhere or to provide examples of good practice.
