Young Persons at Work

Health & Social Services Committee’s proposals to limit the hours that children, aged under 16, may work were due to come into effect in August 2001. Following feedback on these proposals from a number of organisations, the committee has deferred the implementation of its order, so that it may consult further with the Home Office.

As at April 2007 no further information has been released in regard to these intentions.

In 2006, the Jersey Child Protection Team (a joint Education and Police team) published some useful guidelines for employers about young persons at work.
