Employment Relations (Jersey) Law 2007The Employment Relations (Jersey) Law 2007 was approved by the States on on 23rd October 2007. The Appointed Day on which the Law will come into force will be 21st January 2008.

Statutory right to representation.Effective from 2nd November 2007 an employee has the statutory right to be represented at a formal disciplinary or grievance meeting.

Proposed new legislation
On 25th April 2007 the Social Security Minister responded to the Employment Forum’s recommendation on two proposed pieces of legislation, a Redundancy Law and a Business Transfer Law (TUPE type). An Employment Forum Consultation Paper on Maternity, Paternity and Family Friendly Working has also been published.
